Every once in a while “Street Fighter” reinvents itself, and in the process, manages to draw new players to the fighting game community. It’s this fresh blood, embraced by a welcoming fanbase, that has kept the genre alive long after the demise of its ancestral home — the arcades. The latest chapter in the franchise, “Street Fighter 6,” brings an even more inclusive approach to fighting games. Capcom streamlined years worth of fighting game mechanics and made the release more approachable to all skill levels. Trying to make the game easier for newcomers to pick up, the developers offer in-depth guides to teach novices the ins and outs of the systems and the characters so newbies can pick a fighter that appeals to them. Lastly, the developers acknowledge that not everyone is a fan of competitive gaming and they added a surprisingly deep single-player campaign called the World Tour.A HUGE ADDITIONNo matter your skill level, players will find at least...Bay Area jeweler made man spend $220,000 so he could buy $109,000 watch he never got: lawsuit

Ali Rezaei wanted to buy a $109,000 gold Patek Philippe watch, but a prominent Bay Area jeweler refused to sell it to him — first, he had to buy other fancy items from the swanky boutique, according to Rezaei’s newly filed lawsuit.Rezaei had walked into the Shreve & Co. jewelry shop, nestled among other high-end retailers near San Francisco’s Union Square, “and expressed an interest in purchasing a Patek Phillipe 5980/1R-001 watch,” according to his lawsuit filed this week. No, no, no, he was purportedly told by the shop. One does not just waltz in off the street and saunter out with a 5980/1R-001: No watch for you, sir — yet.Shreve, which dates back to the Gold Rush and operates a second boutique in the posh Stanford Shopping Center mall in Palo Alto, told Rezaei on that day in 2020 “that if he built up his ‘purchase history’ by buying a sufficient amount of other merchandise over time … they would offer the Promised Wa...Extreme wealth gap is widening in Silicon Valley, new report finds

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- If Silicon Valley was a nation, it would be deemed as a politically unstable country with extreme wealth inequalities, according to a new report released Tuesday by professors with San Jose State University's Human Rights Institute. The 2023 Silicon Valley Pain Index report defined "Silicon Valley" as Santa Clara County and San Mateo County, as well as some Alameda County cities including Fremont, Newark, and Union City. The report was published to expose structured inequalities and achieve greater human rights in a region where titans of technology amass enormous profits. New data compiled by researchers outlines the region’s persistent inequalities, and "the astronomical concentration of wealth into the hands of an incredibly small number of households and companies," the report states. On the other end of the wealth spectrum, "San Jose leads the nation in young adult homelessness (ages 18-24)," the report states."Wealth disparity in our region is severe, re...Cormac McCarthy, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of ‘The Road,’ dies at 89

A rising senior at Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring and a Life Scout with the Scouts of America, Pugh came up with the plan to create diabetes kits as part of his Eagle Service project. The kits contain items ranging from insulin coolers to water bottles, ID bracelets and even sharps containers for needles.“It’s very hard to deal with needles when you’re out and about,” Pugh said. There are also calculators in each kit to help with insulin dosage calculations.Diabetics have to monitor their food intake and take that into account for insulin dosages, so calculations are just a part of their daily routine, which Hugh said can get “very complicated with decimals and whatnot, so a calculator is probably a necessi...‘Baby K’ among Prince George’s Co. teens indicted, accused of attempted murder on school bus
